Obituary for Myrtie Jo Singleton (Conley)

Myrtie Jo  Singleton (Conley)
Myrtie “Jo” (Conley) Singleton, 85, of 586 Front Street, Burnsville, WV slipped away during the early morning hours on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at her residence. Mrs. Singleton was born on August 28, 1932 at Benny’s Run, WV to the late Roy “Hub” David Conley and Sis (Ratliff) Conley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two infant children William and Marty, brother Phillip Conley, sisters Betty Williams, Madeline Shock, son in law Cermit Ramsey, brother-in-law Ray Williams, and brother-in-law Thermon Shock
On November 3, 1952 she married her loving husband of 65 years Marvin F. Singleton who survives. Also surviving are children Scott W. Singleton and wife Robin of Burnsville, WV, JoAnn “Sis” Ramsey of Clay, WV, David “Will” K. Singleton and wife Brenda of Weston, Kathy L. Rush and husband Jerry of Moorefield, WV, Karen K. Singleton and husband Donald of Heaters, WV. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, children, great-grandchildren, siblings she is survived by brother Jack Conley of Salem, WV, sister Lillian M. Singleton of West Milford, WV, and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Singleton Graduated from Burnsville High School with the class of 1951. Mrs. Singleton was a hard worker she worked in Ohio in the factories for Triad Steel, Leesville Plant making automobile parts, Varbos Factory making plastic moldings, the Bluewater Seafood processing plant, and in West Virginia at the 79er Restaurant in Burnsville, and the Lloyds Restaurant in Flatwoods, WV. In her spare time she enjoyed to fish, and tried to make it to play cards every week, and enjoyed to travel some of her favorite trips were to Florida and in Tennessee where she visited Knoxville, Dollywood, and Graceland. Mrs. Singleton was a truly selfless person she always put everyone else first especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends on Friday, July 20, 2018 at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home 378 Flatwoods Corner Road, Flatwoods, WV 26621 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 12:00 Noon at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Doug Smailes officiating. Interment will follow Funeral Services in the Little Kanawha Memorial Gardens in Heaters, WV. Fond memories and condolences can be shared with the family at stockert-paletti.com.
